Sports Business Journal unveiled its Forty Under 40 Class of 2019 this week featuring 40 of the industry’s best and brightest young professionals who have achieved excellence and innovation in their careers – all before the age of 40. This year marks the 20th Anniversary of the Forty Under 40 list, which has become one of the most highly coveted industry recognitions in sports business.
Tonight, SBJ will honor these outstanding young executives during its annual Forty Under 40 awards gala taking place at the Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point, CA. The event will culminate the annual CAA World Congress of Sports, which was also held this week. Representing a broad cross-section of the sports business industry, this year’s 20th anniversary Forty Under 40 class constitutes a new generation of leaders. Those selected bring an entrepreneurial spirit to their work in media; at leagues, teams and colleges; as agents; with corporate partners in technology, ticketing and finance; in marketing and sponsorship; in e-sports and in new sectors such as sports betting.
It gives me much pride to say that my son Zach is among this year’s distinguished honorees. As Senior Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at Monumental Sports and General Manager of the Monumental Sports Network (MSN), Zach is responsible for overseeing content and programming for MSN. In his role, Zach has led the network’s launch of 14 original series and more than 400 episodes of original programming and game-day shows for the Wizards and Capitals. Zach is a proven leader and visionary who has consistently been at the forefront of innovation, whether it’s related to sports betting, esports or the latest advances in digital technology. Through his leadership, Monumental is forging ahead to develop and expand our business into new and different industries.
