On Tuesday, WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert visited Washington, D.C. as the featured guest for the NPC Headliner’s Luncheon hosted by the National Press Club (NPC). NPC hosts this ongoing series of regular weekly luncheons featuring a broad range of speakers, including high-level decision-makers or extremely influential policy and trendsetters. I was invited to join the Commissioner for a fireside chat to discuss our leadership and vision for women’s sports. The conversation was moderated by NPC President Michael Freedman and was broadcast live on C-SPAN and live streamed on the National Press Club website.
The Commissioner and I were also asked to sign the historic National Press Club guest book during our visit, which features signatures from a long list of iconic leaders and history makers, including Martin Luther King, Jr., John F. Kennedy, Barack Obama amongst many others. This was such a tremendous honor for me!
A special thanks to Michael Freedman and the National Press Club for hosting us and to Commissioner Engelbert for inviting me to participate in this special event during Women’s History Month.
